NEW version of HGS (June 2022 - Revision 2409)

The HydroGeoSphere Revision 2409 (June 2022) is now available for download.

This month we’ve taken some user feedback to heart and expanded the options available when assigning observation points. It is now possible to define observation points based on a relative depth from ground surface (as opposed to absolute elevation). You can also now define multiple observation points using a single command.

To facilitate the improvements in assigning observation wells we’ve introduced six new commands:

  • ‘make observation point by depth’ assigns an observation point based on depth from ground surface

  • ‘make observation points’ assigns multiple observation points using the ‘usual’ elevation input

  • ‘make observation points by depth’ assigns multiple observation points based on depth from ground surface

  • ‘make interpolated observation point by depth’ same as above, except it’s an interpolated observation point

  • ‘make interpolated observation points’ same as above, except it’s an interpolated observation point

  • ‘make interpolated observation points by depth’ same as above, except it’s an interpolated observation point

We’ve also made a number of improvements to hsplot! In addition to a few small bug fixes and several optimizations, hsplot is now able to generate binary Tecplot outputs (*.szplt files). Binary output is enabled by the command ‘tecplot binary mode’ in the plot control file (see also the command ‘tecplot binary flush interval’). The benefits of binary output include faster writing times, significantly smaller hsplot output file sizes, and significantly faster loading times by Tecplot. ASCII Tecplot output remains available and is enabled by default.

As always we have made every effort to resolve user-reported bugs, and we are committed to the continued improvement to the user experience. Do you have suggestions for new commands or improvements to the user experience? Send your ideas to support@aquanty.com!

The latest installers are available on the HGS download page and a full list of changes/updates can be found in the release notes.
