Updates to HydroGeoSphere Pricing and Licensing Structure

Aquanty would like to announce some important updates to the software pricing and licensing structure for HydroGeoSphere. After nearly a decade of offering perpetual software licenses, we will be shifting our software sales and licensing structure to an annual lease model (‘Term license’).

NO CHANGE TO EXISTING PERPETUAL LICENSES

Please note that this change will not impact existing clients who have already purchases a perpetual software license. Those existing license files will remain perpetual, and we’re pleased to continue supporting those existing licenses under the existing pricing structure (i.e. maintenance/software updates extensions can still be purchased annually so you’ll be eligible for the latest versions of HGS).

NEW PRICING AND LICENSING STRUCTURE

As of April 19th, 2021 all software licenses for HydroGeoSphere will be offered as annual leases, with an annual price of $11,000 USD/year (commercial) or $1,100 (academic). New licenses purchased under this annual leasing model will be eligible for maintenance/software updates for the full term of the software lease. This new model will apply to both commercial and academic users, although academic users will continue to enjoy a significant discount.

Commercial users will be eligible for a scaling discount for extended software leases up to maximum lease term of 5 years. For example, a 2-year software lease would be eligible for an overall discount of 5%, and a 5-year lease would be eligible for a 20% discount overall.

Academic users enjoy a 90% discount compared to commercial for a single license purchase, but will also be eligible for a scaling number of installations for each additional license purchased. For example, purchasing 2 licenses will actually make you eligible for 4 installations, purchasing 3 licenses will make you eligible for 9 installations, and so on.

We’re also pleased to announce that floating/network licensing will also be available for purchase by both academic and commercial users at a 50% premium (i.e. $16,500 USD/year for commercial, $1,650 USD/year for academic). With a floating license you can install HGS on as many computers as you like, with the total number of concurrent users being dictated by the number of floating licenses purchased. For example, with a 3-user floating license your team of modelers could have 3 concurrent simulations, although you can provide access to all the computers across your organization. Please note that some restrictions do apply to floating licenses (e.g. internet access is required to manage/deploy the floating licenses).

As always, HydroGeoSphere software licenses are subject to acceptance of the HGS Software License Agreement.
