Canada 1 Water - Evaluating climate change impacts on ground/surface water sustainability across continental Canada

Aquanty is extremely proud to be playing a key role in Canada 1 Water (C1W), a newly announced initiative by Natural Resources Canada to create a fully integrated groundwater/surface water modeling platform (based on HydroGeoSphere) incorporating the latest climate change projections.

This ambitious modelling program will cover the entire country, including the Far North, providing the Canadian public and policy-makers with helpful new tool for evaluating climate change and land use impacts on our collective water resources.

For the first time, Canada will have a comprehensive physically-based platform to model the integrated climate–groundwater–surface-water system. This platform will include decision support tools to inform on droughts, floods, carbon sequestration, wildfire risk, permafrost changes, ecosystem services, and surface/groundwater quantity.

For more information about this exciting new program, please visit www.canada1water.ca, or view the press release.

The C1W project will incorporate six basin-scale models across the entirety of continental Canada, from sea to shining sea to shining sea!
